“Ligamus” – Champion of Georgia

Last year, “Tbilisi” became a winner of Georgian Water-Polo Championship. This year, the fortune of gold medals was solved in the final confrontation between “Tbilisi” and “Ligamus”. Iliauni Club scored 17:13 and won the first meeting. The repeated rivalry was tense and interesting. The first two periods ended with 2:2. “Ligamus” gained success (10:5) in the third eight-minute period. In the 4th period, “Tbilisi” ended the match with 11:14 and finally took the second position. “Ligamus” claimed the victory and became a champion of Georgia.

"Ligamus": Struich, Bakradze, Shengelia, Popovich (3), Kordich (2), Tabatadze (2), Rusishvili, Rurua (2), Gegelashvili (3), Nikoleishvili (2), Mandzulashvili, Head Coach-Vladimer Iseridze.

"Tbilisi": Namoradze, Kenkadze, Kavlashvili(1), Chomakhashvili, Laitadze (3), Babunashvili, Mandzulashvili, Baghaturia (2), Kavtaradze (2), Cherkezishvili (2),Gogava (1), Head Coach-Irakli Bakradze.

For the 3rd place, “Iveria” beat “Sharks” through the total sum of two matches: (10:5, 10:10). 

The members of Georgian national team including the majority of “Ligamus” players will do their best at qualifying match of European Championship and will confront to the team of Great Britain. The match will be held on July 2, in Manchester. Also, On June 24-25, “Olympic” swimming pool will host the Water-Polo International Tournament in Tbilisi and Kazakhs, Belarusians and Persians will take part in it.
