College of Sports

College of Sports was formed as a result of the reorganization of the Ilia State University.

The goal of the College of Sports is to train competitive athletes, providing for the basis of  youth sports development in the country as well as advocating a healthy lifestyle. The College strives to create a training base with modern sport education and research practices. The College cooperates actively with the State Sports Department, and other sports schools and federations.

The student-oriented approach provides the most effect sports education in Georgia. The theoretical classes are integrated with coaching and practice in sports. The University’s liberal approach allowing free choice of classes help the students plan their workload in a manner which does not harm and intervene with their competition and training schedules.

This new bachelor’s degree program is offered in Sports Teaching, Group and Individual Sports Coaching and Sports Management. These programs create an academic and professional space which contributes to the development of the sports educational system.
